Our 76th Franchisee Brings Needed Water Safety and Survival Lessons to Children, enhancing an already strong presence in the Bay Area
British Swim School, the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based national franchise and premier survival and stroke-development swim lesson provider awarded its newest territory this week just outside of San Francisco, California. It will be the second British Swim School franchisee in the Bay Area.
“San Francisco and its surrounding communities is an area we’ve always believed could benefit from multiple swim school locations,” British Swim School President Brian Garrison said. “We are very excited to grow our footprint in the Bay Area and teach more children how to stay safe in the water.”
British Swim School of Walnut Creek was awarded to Ignacio Pinilla, an aspiring entrepreneur originally from Venezuela, who came to Berkeley after 23 years of living in New York City. With a strong belief in the importance of water safety and a love of water sports, Pinilla says British Swim School was a terrific fit.
“I was at a crossroads in my career and wanted to fulfill my dream of owning my own business, but didn’t want one that required a brick and mortar storefront,” he said. “British Swim School’s offering piqued my interest since I love aquatic activities and believe in swimming as a survival skill.”
Pinilla is hoping to open his new British Swim Schools by September 2020.
