North America’s Premier ‘Learn to Swim’ Provider Continues Canadian Expansion
British Swim School, the North American leader of “learn to swim” franchise programs, is pleased to announce the opening of a new franchise location in Greater Oshawa, Ontario at the Harmony Hill Retirement Residence. Franchise owners Ryan Neil and Victor Daigneau are excited to open their first location with the British Swim School family to spread awareness about the importance of swim safety and offer a safe and convenient location for Oshawa residents to learn how to swim. Having witnessed the alarming risks associated with water and recognizing the absence of comprehensive swim programs in the area, they were driven by a shared determination to make a difference and to prevent drownings in the community. “Together, we’re diving into the world of water safety, joy, and community. With years of experience and a passion for swimming, our journey reflects the transformative power of this life skill,” said Victor Daigneau, co-owner of British Swim School of Greater Oshawa. “We're excited to bring the British Swim School experience to Oshawa, a town we believe deserves access to exceptional swim education. Our mission is not just to teach swimming but to save lives and create a safer, happier, and healthier community.” The new location is conveniently located at 1335 Benson St. Oshawa where the team is ready to teach life-saving swimming skills to children (and adults!) in a fun and safe environment taught by trained swimming instructors – something owners Ryan and Victor are passionate about. British Swim School's interactive and enjoyable teaching methodology struck a chord with Ryan and Victor. It aligns perfectly with their own teaching philosophies, where engaging and interactive instruction is the key to success. Victor, who has been a swimming instructor since 1988, brings an extensive 30+ years of experience in the field while Ryan, a former Marketing professional, has been teaching swimming for over two decades. Together, the dynamic duo is committed to taking their teaching to a broader level and expanding access to water safety education in Greater Oshawa. While they may not be Oshawa locals, Ryan hails from Mississauga, and Victor from Toronto, they are united by their passion for swimming, teaching, and the common goal of making the water safer for the community. "Ryan and Victor have been a fantastic addition to the British Swim School family,” said Ashley Gundlach, British Swim School President. “They are passionate about swim safety, share our brand values, and believe in our mission-driven concept to teach children water survival skills and help reduce the number of accidental drownings. We are excited about Ryan and Victor’s first pool location and wish them great success.” British Swim School offers a three-part curriculum teaching children and adults of all ages - some as young as three months - water acclimation, safety, and survival skills, and swim stroke development. While parental supervision is always the number one safety measure, research shows that participating in formal swim programs, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children who are most at risk for deaths caused by drowning.
