British Swim School Brings Much Needed Swim Safety Lessons to the East Bay

The Nation’s Premier ‘Learn to Swim’ Provider Open New Locations in Pleasanton and Livermore

British Swim School, the nation’s leading “learn to swim” franchise company, continues its rapid expansion across North America with the opening of its newest franchise locations in Pleasanton and Livermore, CA. British Swim School of Tri-Valley-Castro Valley opened for business this month and is owned and operated by Savneet Kaur and Sukhveer Singh.

The Pleasanton lessons are being held at 4770 Willow Road while swim instruction in Livermore takes place at 2650 Kitty Hawk Road. Kaur and Singh have both been involved with the tech industry since moving to the United States from India in 2011. A mother of two, Savneet identified the need for swim safety education in their community and quickly realized that British Swim School’s motto aligned with her beliefs.

“British Swim School’s mission is water safety and water survival,” Savneet said. “We wanted to bring ‘Survival of the Littlest’ to our community. It’s a unique business model in that we can attach our mission to something we truly believe in.”

For more than 40 years, British Swim School has been dedicated to teaching water survival skills by teaching infants, children, and adults of all ages the skills needed for water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. Its mission ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer.

Across the nation, 11 people die every day from unintentional drownings, with nearly 4,000 deaths occurring each year. Research shows that participation in formal swim programs, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children who are most at risk for deaths caused by drowning. However, the risk of drowning isn’t limited to children: a Red Cross survey found that more than half of all Americans (54%) either can’t swim or don’t have the basic swimming skills needed to save themselves in the event of a water emergency.

“As parents of young children, Savneet and Sukhveerh have a compassion and appreciation for water safety,” acknowledged Ashley Gundlach, President of British Swim School. “We’re happy to extend our footprint in the Bay Area and are excited that Savneet and Sukhveer will carry on the mission of British Swim School.”
