The Nation’s Premier ‘Learn to Swim’ Provider Awards New Location in the Lehi-Draper Area
British Swim School, the nation’s leading “learn to swim” franchise company, continues its rapid expansion across North America with the opening of its newest franchise location in the Lehi City, Draper area. Starting in May, British Swim School will offer lessons in Draper and a second location will open in Saratoga Springs in June.
“Our neighbors and friends were telling us how they were looking for swim lessons, but couldn’t get in anywhere,” said Kirk Pead, British Swim School franchise owner. “We believe in the British Swim School model, and see it as the perfect solution as we can provide several locations throughout the area with various time slots.”
For more than 40 years, British Swim School has been dedicated to teaching water survival skills by teaching infants, children and adults of all ages the skills needed for water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. Its mission — ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer.
Across the nation, eleven people die every day from unintentional drownings, with nearly 4,000 deaths occurring each year. Research shows that participation in formal swim programs, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children who are most at risk for deaths caused by drowning. However, the risk of drowning isn’t limited to children: a Red Cross survey found that more than half of all Americans (54%) either can’t swim or don’t have the basic swimming skills needed to save themselves in the event of a water emergency.
With four kids of their own, Kirk and April understand the stress that comes with being around water with kids. They believe everyone should get to enjoy swimming in a lake or the pool stress-free. The Peads’ goal is to help families be able to do that through their swim lessons.
“We want to give parents peace of mind when their children are in the water. Our swim lessons not only teach children how to swim but also how to be safe around water,” said April Pead, British Swim School franchise owner. “It’s important to us that swimming is a fun and enjoyable activity for families, and we’re thrilled to help make that a reality.” “We are excited to continue expanding our reach to even more families in Northern Utah,” said Ashley Gundlach, British Swim School President. “We believe every person deserves the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer, and we look forward to partnering with Kirk and April to make that a reality in their community.”
