The Nation’s Premier ‘Learn to Swim’ Provider Awards New Location in Colorado Springs
British Swim School, the nation’s leading “learn to swim” franchise company, continues its swift growth across North America with the opening of its newest franchise location in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This new location will provide even more options for Colorado Springs residents to learn the survival-first swim lessons British Swim School has been known for in the area. Joining a roster of eight existing Colorado locations, British Swim School of El Paso-Pueblo Counties, located at 1892 Southgate Road, opened on September 23rd. The owner and his team hope to create another safe and fun environment in which to learn swim skills spanning water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. Lessons will initially be offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5pm-8pm and Saturday 9am-1:30pm. With Tamie Arnell-Powells as operations manager and Skyler Barrick as aquatics lead, this team comes to British Swim School with experience in business management and certifications in open water and pool lifeguarding.“The El Paso-Pueblo area has a need for swim safety instruction, along with water survival skills,” said British Swim School President Ashley Gundlach. “We’re excited to expand in this region, offering such critical life skills to the area’s residents.”British Swim School of El Paso-Pueblo Counties owners are excited about having great franchise owners throughout Colorado to collaborate with and being able to expand and share our mission of bringing water safety to every community. For over 40 years, British Swim School has been dedicated to teaching water survival skills by teaching infants, children, and adults of all ages the skills needed for water acclimation, water survival, and stroke development. Its mission — ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer. Across the nation, 11 people die every day from unintentional drownings, with nearly 4,000 deaths occurring each year. Research shows that participation in formal swim programs, such as those offered by British Swim School, can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children who are most at risk for deaths caused by drowning. However, the risk of drowning isn’t limited to children: a Red Cross survey found that more than half of all Americans (54%) either can’t swim or don’t have the basic swimming skills needed to save themselves in the event of a water emergency.
“The team of our new Colorado Springs location recognizes the importance of swim safety, which is at the core of our mission,” said Gundlach. “They have backgrounds in public service, emergency services, and aquatics making them perfect fits for the British Swim School family.”For more information about British Swim School, visit www.britishswimschool.com/el-paso-pueblo-counties/.
